Mike started his career at Todd AO Studios in 1995 just as the sound industry was moving from film to the digital sound. He was fortunate enough to have on-the-job training in television during this early transition and throughout his twenty years there worked on numerous projects both as editor and sound supervisor.
“I find it very rewarding when a soundscape is created and melds seamlessly in to the television show or movie. Building the balanced backdrop with great sounding dialogue, sound fx / design, ADR and music to give the audience an escape from their day with an hour of enjoyment is always our mission, and why I enjoy this work and it’s technical challenges so much.”
Coming from a family of entertainers, Mike finds the behind-the-scenes team collaboration with the producers, directors, editors, and actors in building the best viewing experience possible is the key to any successful project. “Having the picture and sound playing as one solid piece is always the goal, and I’m always excited to learn new things along the way to create that amazing sound.”
