Curt has been telling stories with recorded dialogue since junior high school where he helped his father create comic ‘radio show’ presentations for the annual Christmas parties at US Steel, where his father worked.
With a degree in Cinema from USC, Curt began his feature career working for Robert Altman – he cut his first reel of dialogue: reel 2 of “A Wedding.” He worked as a freelance sound editor on films from “Raider of the Lost Ark” to “Reservoir Dogs” to “The Fifth Element.” With over 80 feature film credits, he is particularly known for dialogue and ADR editing and creature/ character development, creating personalities for dogs (“K-9”), elephants (“Larger than Life”), robots (“RoboCop II”), apes (“Planet of the Apes”), monsters (“The Fifth Element”) and humans.
Curt is currently a supervising sound editor and re-recording mixer. He has won four Golden Reel awards, one Emmy and has worked on several Oscar winning films.
When not editing sound, Curt is often cutting lumber – as an amateur cabinet maker. He teaches part-time at Loyola Marymount University.
